Review: Belo AcnePro Line

Those who personally know me would say that I do have good skin, but sad to say I do have my share of comedones right on top of my nose. Stubborn they are indeed, and they do annoy me most of the time. When I saw the Belo AcnePro line, I wondered if it could help with my comedones issue. I then thought of giving it a try and have a break from my usual facial soap.

The Belo AcnePro line is composed of three skincare products which are scientifically-formulated, each with a distinct benefit for smoother and pimple-free skin. Each has been infused with Purified Bee Venom which has been clinically proven to treat mild to moderate acne and reduce inflammation. Honestly, the Purified Bee Venom caught my attention here, since it is becoming a hit among skincare products nowadays.

Note that I am pretty picky when it comes to choosing skincare products. I need something that really suits my skin because it's either my skin feels tight and dry, or it breaks out with zits and all.

Step 1: Cleanse with AcnePro Pimple-Fighting Gel Face Wash

To use, apply the gel facial wash on damp skin and massage in  circular motions, rinse and pat dry. This gel cleanser thoroughly cleanses without over-drying my skin and it does not sting too (I do hate that itchy feeling that I get from most facial wash). The lather is just right and is so easy to rinse. It leaves my face feeling really fresh and clean.

Step 2: Tone with AcnePro Treatment Toner

The toner helped unclog my congested pores and  lessened the visible comedones that I have on my nose. The dirt that has been stripped of my face was visible on the cotton balls that I used as well, which means that it does aid in the cleansing of my skin. As much as I wanted to post a photo of it, I think it's so gross to look at. The cleanser also claims to reduces inflammation and red marks and soothe skin from irritation, this might explain why my skin did not get any irritation at all.

Step 3: Repair with AcnePro Pimple Gel

The product claims to dry up pimple, calms inflammation while promoting wound-healing with anti-bacterial action and lighten blemishes that pimples leave behind. Even if I did not have pimples, I still tried this on my face to make the skincare routine complete. I focused on applying it on my nose and indeed my comedones lessened and I did not experience any breakouts.

All three products are oil-free, fragrance-free, and non-comedogenic (does not clog pores). This explains why even if I have sensitive skin, I did not have any negative reactions to the product. Despite being mild to the skin, the Belo AcnePro line was able to deliver results beyond my expectation. It made my skin softer, smoother, and more supple. The best part is, my comedones lessened. To think that I just used it for less than a week. With continued use, I might be able to eradicate the stubborn eyesore that I have on top of my nose and eventually have tighter and cleaner pores. Who doesn't wish to have a blemish free skin, right?

Always remember guys, real beauty emanates from within... If you want to shine bright even without a spotlight, carry that positive disposition, be happy, and live a life that would inspire others...

Maleficent Brings Back The Little Girl In Me!

It was a hasty decision that my friends and I made this morning. While we were waiting on our children we talked about parting ways as soon as the workshop was through. Until my daughter Ysabella approached our table and said, "Ma, can we watch Maleficent later?" I hesitated but my friends agreed on watching the movie. Well, I was outnumbered.

Today, May 28, 2014 was the first day of showing, and we got tickets for the very first 3D screening schedule available. The kids got pretty excited but we had to wait for thirty minutes until we were allowed to enter the cinema. With a lot of food that we brought with us, we were pretty sure the kids would never get hungry.

As the movie started not only were the kids in awe by the graphic display, as if they became part of a classic fairy tale movie. Even I at 38 years old was amazed by the flashy and realistic exhibition of fairies, trolls, and other forest creatures. As if I relieved my childhood, my creative imagination as a child was given justice. Not only was I entertained by the movies effects but the story as well. The story which has been told in a different light. The twists and relevant details to who Maleficent was and how she came about.

This Disney movie is a must watch for children and those who are child at heart. Parents, be sure to explain to your children what the moral of the story is. THE GOOD ALWAYS TRIUMPHS EVIL. To whom the good heart belongs to, is apt to you to discover... Watch the movie guys and relive the child in you. ;)

Greenwich Pizza Camp, Summer 2014

Summer is almost over but the fun goes on for kids at Greenwich Pizza Camp. Early this morning a bunch of kids gathered to join the Pizza Camp, hosted by Greenwich Pizza, NCCC Mall of Davao branch. The call time given was 8:30 AM for all preregistered participants, and children along with their parents came early, and were pretty excited to make their own pizza.

The workshop started with parlor games which served as an ice breaker for the kids. It made them more comfortable with the atmosphere too. After the first part, children were oriented and taught the right way of hand washing. Then came the kitchen tour where kids were able to see where the pizzas are being made and what utensils and appliances are needed to cook it. And the most awaited part, the making of their very own Hawaiian Pizza.

It was so nice to see the little one's serious faces while doing their pizza toppings. Making use of their creative side, while they were enjoying too. As they finished putting pizza sauce, ham, pineapple, and cheese on top of their pizza crust, it was time to bake. After a few minutes, voila! Their very own pizza made with patience and love.

As the pizza was served, it came with spaghetti, a piece of chicken, and a drink. The P220.00 registration fee was indeed worth it. To see the excitement in children's faces when they are able to complete a task is such a delight, and making their own pizza was a task filled with fun. To see my daughter Ysabella and her friends Cianthy and Nicole happy, PRICELESS!

Special thanks to Miss Ma. Julie Distor, Service Quality Manager and The Staff of Greenwich, NCCC Mall of Davao branch for accommodating us and for making this day a fun filled one for all the children who joined the Greenwich Pizza Camp.

Review: Nutrive Benecol, A Healthy And Delicious Drink In One Bottle

Image

I  have mentioned that I am to give a review on skin care products on my succeeding posts, but as I wait for the results, I just could not let this product review pass… This one is worth sharing! ;)

I saw this product in the internet a week ago and became curious about it. Nutrive Benecol, is a smoothie with Plant Stanol Ester which is scientifically proven to lower cholesterol, along with a healthy diet with low saturated fat and cholesterol intake. It is said that Nutrive Benecol is the first smoothie, clinically proven to reduce cholesterol (LDL) level by as much as 11% in just two weeks! For best results, it is also recommended that it be taken twice daily. Nutrive Benecol contains no sugar and instead has Sucralose (an artificial sweetener), to achieve its delightfully sweet taste. It comes in three flavors, strawberry, orange, and black currant.

Recently, I was given the chance to try this product. Each bottle contains 100 ml of smoothie and indeed it was delicious. I tried the strawberry variant, and I really liked its smooth texture, the pleasurable flavor of strawberry, and the sweetness which was just right. The product just brought out the child in me! Not to mention that my children loved it too…

Our family including my children, eat vegetables and fruits on a regular basis, but it could not be avoided that they crave for meat and other oily food at times too. Considering the health benefit that the product provides, it’s one health drink that I would definitely buy for myself and my family, each time  that I would visit the grocery. If you are a health conscious individual who looks after your food intake, yet wants to have something delightful to the palate, this is a must try. A healthy and delicious drink packed in one small bottle.

P.S. The product is not appropriate for pregnant and breastfeeding women and children under 5 years of age.

For more information and inquiries about the product, visit Nutrive Benecol‘s Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/NutriveBenecolPhils).

The Journey To A Beautiful Skin

I have been blessed with fair and clear complexion. Thanks to my genes, but it does not end with that. At age 37, pigmentation spots are starting to appear, as well as fine lines on my face. I get to have zits sometimes too. I don’t usually do rituals to take care of my skin. I just settle for a good soap and that’s it. Kojic Acid Soap from Royale Business Club has been my constant buddy for about two years now. It’s the only thing that I use on my skin on a daily basis. Why do I use the said soap? It is because among all the other soaps that I have tried in the market, it is the only one that does not give me dry skin without having to put on lotion, nor does it give me a slippery feeling on my skin after bathing. Honestly, I really hate the sticky feel that moisturizers and lotions leave on my skin. I don’t like spending a lot of time on beauty rituals before dressing up too.

Then, I realized that I am no loner getting any younger, and my skin has to get all the attention and loving that it deserves. I guess it’s high time that I look for an anti-aging product that would suit my type of skin. Something that would bring back the radiance and youth to my aging skin.

Join me in my search for products that aid in skin renewal and regeneration, to bring out that beautiful and youthful glow. Who knows, you might just find the right product that would work for you as well. On my succeeding posts, I shall do a review on skin care products that I will be personally trying out. I shall do an objective review on how the skin care product works on my skin and other essentials that a user needs to know.

I do hope that you keep posted on my journey as I share my personal product experiences with you. ;)

Review: Zen Zest Tea Tree Oil

Image

Long before I started blogging, I have learned about Tea Tree Oil and its uses. I became curious about it but was not quite sure if it was readily available in the market. Until just recently, I came across  Zen Zest Tea Tree Oil.

Tea tree oil is extracted from the leaves and twigs of the Australian Tea Tree growing on the swampy southeast Australian coast. It is toxic when taken orally and its use is restricted to topical application. Tea Tree oil is applied to the skin and is usually used for infections such as acne, fungal infections of the nail, lice, scabies, athlete’s foot, and ringworm. It is also used as a local antiseptic for cuts and abrasions, for burns, insect bites and stings, boils, and can also be sued as a massage oil. There are a lot more uses of Tea Tree Oil, for health and household, and use of such should be done sparingly.

Since I do not have any skin problems at the moment, I used Tea Tree Oil instead for body massage. I mixed massage oil with tea tree oil and had an invigorating massage which helped relieve pain in problem areas on my body. It was such a rejuvenating experience having been massaged with this very potent oil. I also have read that Tea Tree Oil is helpful when used for a stimulating massage in debilitating illness. There are still a lot of uses of this very potent oil which I want to try. I would want to experience the wonders that this product could do for me.

I guess you should not only take my word for it. Discover what this wonder in a tiny bottle could do for you as well. Do some readings about Tea Tree Oil, who knows this could come in very handy and useful to you. Tea Tree Oil is readily available in Zen Zest counters nationwide. Another quality product from Philippine’s favorite Aromatherapy brand.

Review: Zen Zest Lifestyle Products

Image

I received a loot bag from Zen Zest today and it contained these goodies. As soon as I got the products, I immediately tried each one of them. Limited Edition room deodorizers/fragrances from our country’s leading aromatherapy brand. Not only are they nicely packaged, they all smell nice too! Fragrance is not too strong, with just the right blend.

Image

The blue box contains the ANTI-TOBACCO room deodorizer. The fresh fusion of cedarwood, bergamot, and pine scents clears the air not only of tobacco stench but other odors as well. This comes in very useful when you have visitors who smoke and leave behind the smell of tobacco. Even if no one smokes at home, it still would be nice to have one to keep the house smelling clean and fresh.

Image

The green box holds the ANTI-MOSQUITO room fragrance. It’s such a pleasant and invigorating way of warding off mosquitoes. As I made a few spritz in our room, it gave off a refreshing scent of citronella, lemongrass, and eucalyptus. Having this at home surely would be a safer way of keeping my loved ones from mosquito borne diseases, compared to the use the conventional aerosols. It creates a more comfortable homey ambiance as well.

Image

The peach variant is the CABINET DEODORIZER. My little one totally loves it! Not because of it’s color, but the fragrance itself. This one smells like a bouquet of Iris Peony and Freesia blossom. It helps eliminate odors in enclosed spaces such as cabinets and closets. Its scent helps maintain the freshness of clothes and linen too. The scent reminds me of my youth, but it does not follow that I am old! Hahaha!

Image

The KITCHEN FRAGRANCE which the brown box contains is my personal favorite.  The delicious scent of choco cappuccino, a blend of fine mocca and creamy choco hazelnut helps get rid of cooking odors such that of fish, meat, and other viands. Obviously, I am a coffee addict and I just could not get over the fragrance. Since I spend a lot of time in the kitchen as mommy duty calls for, its pretty delightful to have the Kitchen Fragrance handy.

These Limited Edition line of room fragrances and deodorizers from ZEN ZEST  is a must try for moms. Aromatherapy is a better alternative to keeping our homes smelling fresh and clean compared to aerosols which harm the ozone layer.

I shall make a separate review on the TEA TREE OIL. Keep posted!

Review: Silvertree Argan Oil Thairapy, Shine & Sheild by Cynos

I was born with naturally curly hair and taming my locks has been quite a dilemma for me. I have gone through a lot of styling aids and even maintained straightening my hair for quite some time, until I gave up because my mane got thinner. I eventually grew my hair back to its naturally curly state, but regularly colored it with different shades to achieve a sophisticated look, thus causing damage to its strands. Giving it a healthy look, now became a challenge for me.

Though I already have learned to appreciate my locks, I felt really hopeless and thought I could no longer bring my hair back to life. Until recently I came across Silvertree Argan Oil Thairapy Shine and Shield Spray. Having read about the benefits of Argan oil to the skin and hair, and a friend attesting to its effectiveness, I readily tried the product without second thoughts. I was pretty excited to see what it could do to my then very dry and damaged hair.
Image
Argan oil is known to be  the “liquid gold”. It originally comes from Morocco and is known to be very beneficial for the hair and skin. The very first time I tried Shine & Shield Spray on my hair, I literally fell in love with the product. My then tangled hair became easier to manage. I could even run fingers through my hair without getting caught in tangles! I have tried countless products but failed to deliver the same effect.
What I like most about the product is that it feels light and does not leave a greasy feeling ( just make sure to carefully follow the instructions ).   The Shine and Shield Spray leaves a delicate scent on the hair that lingers all day long. Application is also easy because it’s similar to that of the good old hairspray. Just spray the right amount and you’re good to go. Its packaging is also something that I like, it is light weight and comes very handy.

The downside however is, Silvertree Argan Oil Thairapy Shine and Shield Spray is not readily available in supermarkets. It is a little bit pricey too compared to commercial hair treatment which are available in drug stores and supermarkets. Well, I guess price would not be much of an issue after all if it meant keeping your crowning glory healthy.

Overall, my experience with the product is very satisfactory. Product was able to meet my expectations on making my hair healthier and more manageable.

*With hair like mine, who would even think that at the end of the day it still could remain soft and easy to manage!

Just Getting Started

I have always loved to write for as long as I can remember. Putting my thoughts into writing is somehow a means of expressing myself, my ideas, and my feelings. With the technology that we have these days, creating my own blog often crossed my mind; but I never had the chance to do so, until now. Finally! Now I could write about anything nice under the sun! Yes, you read it right. I would like to share good ideas and thoughts and just about anything pleasant that I have had first hand experience with. Of course before anything else, I want to share a piece of who I am with you.

Ginggay is what my family and friends call me. I am a nurse by profession, married, and a full-time mother to three wonderful children. Though I do work online,  still I consider myself to be “mommy on 24 hour duty”, due to the privilege that I have of being able to work from home. The oldest among my children is a boy, followed by two girls. At age 37, I now have two children in college and my youngest shall be in the Primary Level come June of this year. I married at a young age and I am proud to say that I have raised my children beautifully and have no regrets at all. Each experience is unique and I am in no way encouraging early marriage. It might have worked for me but it doesn’t follow for everybody.

Being a mother at a young age was quite tough and it has been a roller coaster ride for me. Obstacles have come my way and I am proud to say that I have overcome each one with God’s guidance. Life has been my best teacher. As I write my blog, I will be sharing my experiences and learning in life. My journey as a mother, a wife, a daughter, a friend, and as a person I shall write about. Simply, I shall share my thoughts about life as I’ve known it to be.
Until my next post…
