I Just Got Lucky As A Newbie

Who would have thought that a newbie blogger like me would win a blog contest. It was on May 31st that I saw a post saying that The Belo ProAcne Line is holding a blog competition for the reviews made on the its different products which were availed through Sample Room. Thinking about such opportunity, I hurriedly gathered my materials and did my personal experience review.

The Blog Competition was tagged "Shine Bright Even Without A Spotlight". I was racing with time. Why? The very day which I saw the post was the deadline itself. With only my handheld phone to take photos and my insights about the product to equip me, I kept my hopes high. I have seen reviews done by professional bloggers on the product and I said to myself, "There is no harm in trying!".

I am no professional photographer and editing the photos were much of a burden for me than checking my grammar! Well, I did the best that I could to present the product in photographs in such a way that it could justify what I was saying. My grammar is not perfect either but I tried my very best to convey my thoughts in a manner that my readers would easily have a grasp on what I am trying to say rather than swamp my post with highfalutin words to impress and get nowhere.

Days have passed and I forgot about the contest. I have been too busy taking my Grade One daughter to and from school. Call me a stage mom. Hahaha! As my daughter and I arrived home from school yesterday, I hurriedly checked on my e-mails to see if my sample orders have been shipped. I got a message from Sample Room and thought it was a reminder of my shipment order. To my surprise a "Congratulations!" was written on it! I got overwhelmed and hastily sent my reply. My details were needed for the shipment of my prize and I now am counting the days until it gets to my doorstep. I just can't wait!

Until my next post, guys! I'll let you know when I have my loot on hand. ;)

Too Bad I Can't Make It...

A few days ago, I received an invitation to the very first Aquabest Bloggers Night. The event is organized by Aquabest, the country’s premiere water franchise in cooperation with Evee and Skinlyn Health and Wellness Spa . As much as I wanted to attend the event on the evening of the 14th of this month, I had to decline. Not only am I miles away from Quezon City, but I have a prior commitment on the 15th which I have to honor.

The said event should have been my very first blogger's event and I was not expecting to be invited so soon since I am just a newbie. I felt so overwhelmed and excited. I know I will be missing a lot, yet I understand that everything happens for a reason. In time I know that I would be able to attend not only one, but several blogger's events. I'm keeping my hopes high! That should be the spirit, right?

The organizers were really kind enough to consider me and keep me on their list despite my decline. Should any event of theirs happen here down south, I'd be glad to attend and show my support. Thanks to these companies who give bloggers like me the opportunity to learn and share what we have in mind through the products that they offer. A partnership where companies, bloggers, and patrons cultivate awareness and learning with the aid of one another... <3

Just Getting Started

I have always loved to write for as long as I can remember. Putting my thoughts into writing is somehow a means of expressing myself, my ideas, and my feelings. With the technology that we have these days, creating my own blog often crossed my mind; but I never had the chance to do so, until now. Finally! Now I could write about anything nice under the sun! Yes, you read it right. I would like to share good ideas and thoughts and just about anything pleasant that I have had first hand experience with. Of course before anything else, I want to share a piece of who I am with you.

Ginggay is what my family and friends call me. I am a nurse by profession, married, and a full-time mother to three wonderful children. Though I do work online,  still I consider myself to be “mommy on 24 hour duty”, due to the privilege that I have of being able to work from home. The oldest among my children is a boy, followed by two girls. At age 37, I now have two children in college and my youngest shall be in the Primary Level come June of this year. I married at a young age and I am proud to say that I have raised my children beautifully and have no regrets at all. Each experience is unique and I am in no way encouraging early marriage. It might have worked for me but it doesn’t follow for everybody.

Being a mother at a young age was quite tough and it has been a roller coaster ride for me. Obstacles have come my way and I am proud to say that I have overcome each one with God’s guidance. Life has been my best teacher. As I write my blog, I will be sharing my experiences and learning in life. My journey as a mother, a wife, a daughter, a friend, and as a person I shall write about. Simply, I shall share my thoughts about life as I’ve known it to be.
Until my next post…
